The three-star did so this past weekend, checking out his future school, taking in a game at Reser Stadium against Arizona State, and giving his mother a chance to see where his future would be.
"My trip went great," said Jones. "I love it up there. And my mom went with me and she loved it too."
Jones was one of four visitors in Corvallis, and he was hosted by fellow SoCal native Malik Gilmore.
Everything Jones saw, he was impressed with.
"The facilities are great and I love the campus," said Jones. "It really is a college town and I like that a lot."
Jones had no doubt that Oregon State was the place for him, being completely solid before the trip, but the visit firmly sealed it.
"Yeah, I'm 100% solid," said Jones. "I was already 100% solid even before the trip."
