Randolph makes the call

Brandon Randolph

The Xavier Musketeers wanted another guard to round out their 2013 class and they went out to California to do it by snagging four-star Brandon Randolph.

He had planned to wait, but Brandon Randolph decided to follow his heart and come to an early decision. The Inglewood (Cal.) High School product made only two official visits, but that was all he needed in order to know Xavier was the right place for him.

Randolph's cousin Shannon Jones confirmed the commitment to Scout.com via telephone.

Starting in late October the Musketeers put the full court press on four-star point guard Brandon Randolph. The 6-foot-1 guard, who is capable of scoring and distributing, visited the Cincinnati school for their home opener and came away very impressed with the program.

A commitment nearly took place right after the trip, but an offer from Missouri made him pause for a minute, however the feeling never went away. Randolph decided on Wednesday that he wanted to ink his letter of intent with Chris Mack's program.

He is the second commitment in the class for the Musketeers joining three-star small forward Kamall Richards. This is a huge pickup for Xavier who was in need of more scoring and athleticism from the guard position.
