From the football field to the recruiting world, Valencia (Calif.) safety Tedric Thompson has been a busy guy since the season ended.

He holds six total offers but says his top four is Fresno State, Minnesota, Hawaii and Colorado. At the end of November, Thompson and his mother saw coaches from Fresno State and Minnesota during in home visits.

"Coach Sawvel from Minnesota and coach McDonald and coach Peterson from Fresno State all came for in homes," Thompson said. "It went well with both. My mom liked both of them and that was a big thing for me. Everything they said my mom and I wanted to hear and we really liked all of them."

Shortly after in home visits, Thompson hit the road and took his first official visit to Fresno State. He says the experience was unforgettable and he liked what he saw.

"It was great," he said. "It's a great campus, it's not too far away and biggest thing I really liked was watching the players play and how the db's and the defense interact with each other. They really looked like they have fun and the coaches get involved in practice. I could really see myself playing in a program like that."

Not only did the Bulldogs impress Thompson on the field but off of it as well. He wants to major in sports medicine, and a brand new sports medicine building is under construction on campus.

"They're building that and are going to start working on the weight room afterwards so I really liked Fresno State."

Looking ahead to other visits, Thompson says he will official to his other top schools beginning at the New Year. He also added he has been receiving some good advice from his older brother, Cedric Thompson, who plays at Minnesota.

"He told me you really have to focus on seeing yourself there for four years and to not just get caught up in the moment with everything."
