LaRue Lists Three

LaRue spoke at Saturday's Cal State Game

Wide receiver Sebastian LaRue visited Washington State in November, but didn't mention the Cougars following Saturday's Cal State Game in Visalia. The soft verbal USC commit will be taking two more trips in January before National Signing Day.

Explosive Santa Monica wide receiver Sebastian LaRue remains verbally committed to USC, but don't expect a firm decision from him until very close to signing day. That's because the 5-foot-11, 185-pound speedster is taking two late official visits: one to Texas A&M on January 18 and one to Notre Dame January 25.

LaRue visited Washington State on the weekend of November 10, but did not mention the Cougars in an interview following Saturday's Cal State Game in Visalia.

"USC stands out to me because of the caliber of athletes they produce and because of the great tradition there," he said before acknowledging that his other two finalists, the Aggies and the Irish, also have a considerable amount to offer in those areas.

FOX Sports Next currently considers LaRue a "soft verbal" commitment to the Trojans, and that is probably an accurate of way of portraying his current state of mind, especially after he noted that "the door is still open" in his recruitment on Saturday.

LaRue did not factor much in the South's 19-14 Cal State Game victory, a contest that was played in a torrential downpour and almost hopelessly muddy conditions. But lead analyst Greg Biggins has noted LaRue "shows soft hands and isn't afraid to go over the middle. He runs well after the catch and is a dangerous return man as well." Stay tuned to FOX Sports Next for reports on LaRue's upcoming visits to College Station and South Bend.
