Pleasant Grove HS DT Nick Terry (Elk Grove, CA) verbally committed to Boise State back in November and picked up an offer from Cal less than a month ago in December. Rumors started swirling just a few days ago that he would be taking an official visit to Cal, but Terry says he remains firmly committed to Boise State and won't be taking that visit to Berkeley.

"I'm definitely not taking an official visit there," he said. "I'm 100% committed to Boise State. I got a message from the coaches asking me to call them as soon as that got out there on twitter. I think there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere. I told Coach K and Coach Avalos that I'm 100% committed."

"Coach K told me I'm their guy and they're done recruiting D-tackles," he stated. "Boise is where I've wanted to go from the start and that's exactly where I'm going. I've been a Bronco since I committed in November."

"Coach Avalos is coming again on Friday and then Coach Petersen will be here next week," said Terry. "Coach Avalos is really talkative. He and I both get along really well. I enjoyed talking to him about where I'll be playing and things like that the last time he was here. Having Coach Petersen here next week will be great too."

He went on to say that the coaching staff is very excited about the current recruiting class.

"Coach Avalos said this class is going to be one of the best ever," he said. "I think we're showing that we can recruit with the Pac-12 schools and that they shouldn't doubt us. We can beat any of them."

"I think there were pros and cons with going to the Big East," said Terry. "I'm actually happy that we're staying now since my parents will be able to come watch more of my games. There would have been a lot of travel had we gone to the Big East. Coach Petersen also said that we're going to be on ESPN a lot. That'll be great."

And the bowl win against Washington?

"I loved it," he said. "I thought the D-line played very well with Demarcus (Lawrence) out of the game. Like I said, people need to stop doubting us. Just because you're in the Pac-12 doesn't mean you're better than us."

It's easy to see that Terry is excited about signing with Boise State and says he's ready for Signing Day to arrive.

"I'm ready to sign," he said. "This can be a headache. I'm a Bronco and have been since I committed, but I'm ready to make it official now."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Nick Terry.
