Olugbode flips to Colorado

San Jose (Calif.) Bellarmine Prep athlete Kenneth Olugbode committed to San Jose State way back in September but took an official visit to Colorado over the weekend and will now play for the Buffs.

Kenneth Olugbode was considered a steal for San Jose State when he originally committed to the Spartans earlier in the year. He has been one of the top players in the Northern California area the last two years and had a big senior season earning Area Player of the Year honors by the San Jose Mercury News.

"I'm very excited to be going to Colorado," Olugbode said. "I've always wanted to play in the Pac 12 and to have the opportunity to do it while still playing for Coach Mac (Mike MacIntyre) was too much to pass up.

"Coach Mac is the one I committed to at San Jose State and once he got to Colorado, he told me he still wanted me to play for him. I had a great visit and loved it in Boulder. It's a beautiful area and it felt like home to me. I know the program has been down a bit but I'm excited to help turn things around and get them going again."

Olugbode is a big athlete that excelled at linebacker and running back for Bellarmine. He rushed for 739 yards and 10 touchdowns but will play linebacker in college.

"They want me on defense and that's where I enjoy playing the most," Olugbode said. "I'm just going to keep working hard and hopefully I can come in and make an immediate impact next season. That's my goal right now and I'm already excited at the opportunity to play at CU next year."
