next player spotlight comes from the trenches. One of the top lineman in the west coast
heading into next season is Jake Dean.
Dean talks about his goals and why he decided to commit to UCLA so
soon. Here’s what he had to
say…..

What is your favorite block to make?
Jake:
My favorite block to make is a trap block

Jake:
6'4'', 280, bench-335, squat-435, clean-265

be your top 5?
Jake:
top 5 UCLA,

football memory?
Jake:
winning the league championship my sophmore year.
Prepca.com: What are you doing to
prepare for next season?
Jake:
Working out, practicing summer ball, going to hops (to work speed) and football
camps.
Prepca.com: What are
your goals for this upcoming season?
Jake:
My goals are to win a CIF championship and go undefeated
Prepca.com: What is your strength as a
football player?
Jake:
I know all the signals that are called in to the quarterback and I know
everyone’s position so I can help anyone if they don’t know their play. H use my
head a lot, I know what the opponent will do before he does.
Prepca.com:
What is your weakness as a football player?
Jake:
I try to do too much.
Prepca.com: Who are some teammates that
people need to watch for?
Jake:
Thomas Diprima, Richie Raught, Joel Medina, Cory Yirate
Prepca.com: What teammate do you really
respect the most and why?
Jake:
Cory Yirate. He works out everyday and works harder than anyone I have ever
known.
Prepca.com: What is
the best piece of advice you have ever gotten? Who did you get it from?
Jake:
Don’t ever quit anything I started and always work hard at it ..my
parents

been the most influential person in your life? Why?
Jake:
My parents, both of them. They teach me not give up and not take things for
granted.

your favorite professional athlete?
Jake:
Simeon Rice

can we expect from your team this season?
Jake:
Winning league and hopefully CIF
Prepca.com: What are your goals as far
as playing football in college?
Jake:
Win a national championship. Make
all Pac-10. Hopefully, go on to the next level
Prepca.com: What can you bring to a
college program?
Jake:
Quickness for a linemen and smarts.
Prepca.com: What is your favorite thing
about the game of football?
Jake:
HITTING. Being physical
Prepca.com: What has been the most
surprising part of the whole recruiting process? What advice would you give to
athletes who get recruited in the future?
Jake:
I was surprised I was offered a scholarship before the pre season work outs.
Make sure you choose the right place for you.
Prepca.com: What was it about UCLA that
made you decide that was your choice this early in the whole process?
Jake: UCLA has always been a college
team I loved. It’s near all my family, near the beach. The coaches there are
awesome. I can see myself fitting in perfectly.
