and 8 rebounds per game and shot 50% on FG.
CR: What is your official height and
weight?
Lane: 6'4" and 205

Dunking two-handed on a guy that was trying to draw a charge on me during a
tournament game this summer at the U of A.
CR: What are your goals for the
upcoming season?
Lane: I want to
be the leader of my team and get my team to play well together. I want to have a
winning record, make the State playoffs, and if those things happen, I would
like to average a double-double in the process.
CR: What aspect of your game have you
really worked hard to improve?
What area would you like to keep
improving on?
Lane: I have worked
a lot this summer on my perimeter game, mid-range jumpshot, and ball
handling. I need to improve my FT percentage.
CR: Who are some of your teammates that
people need to watch out for?
Lane: Bryce Burnett & Jerod
Jung
CR: Name one teammate
you really respect and why?
Lane:
Ronny Barlow - He knows his role on the team, which is to bring strong
defense. He is unselfish and always looks to set up his teammates.
He will always go 110%.
CR:
What are your goals regarding playing basketball in college?
Lane: I would like to get a scholarship
to play college ball. I want to go to a decent sized DII school that is
also strong academically.
CR:
Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
Lane: Yes.
CR: What would your top 5 college
choices be?
Lane:
Mesa State, Cornell, Simpson, Vanguard,
Grand
Canyon
CR: Who is the best player you ever
played against? Why?
Lane: Jerryd Bayless - he's extremely quick and an
explosive jumper.
CR: Name
one opponent who you really respect and why?
Lane: Kyle Ludwig (Catalina Foothills)
- he shows everyone respect both on and off the court, and he's just an
all-around nice guy.
CR: What
Club Basketball team do you player for in the Spring and Summer?
Lane: I had a job this summer so I just
did tourneys and summer league games, mostly with my school team.
CR: How do you think your coach would
describe you as a player?
Lane:
He would probably say I'm a good leader who is an unselfish player. I am a
decent post player that has expanded my game to the perimeter.
CR: What are your strengths and
weaknesses as a player?
Lane:
Rebounding, jumping and offense. My weakness is free throws right now but
I am working a lot on that.
CR: Who is your favorite athlete and
why?
Lane: Amare Stoudemire - he is so gifted and fun to
watch play. His work ethic and determination is admirable.
CR: What is the best piece of advice
you have ever received?
Lane: If
you put in the work - the sky's the limit.
CR: Tell us what can we expect from
your team this season?
Lane: An
athletic squad who runs the floor an plays like the Phoenix Suns. Well, at
least I hope so...
CR: What
position do you think you will play in college?
Lane: A combination of 3 and 4. I
can play outside or inside, wherever I'm needed.
CR: What can a college program expect
from you as a player?
Lane: I
will always give 110% and will always listen and be respectful. I will get
it done in the classroom also, academics are just as important as
athletics.
CR: What will the
main factors be when you choose a school?
Lane: Primarily cost and
location. My first preference would be to stay in state, but I would also
like to go to school in Colorado,
California or the Midwest (in that order).
