PrepCA:

PrepCA:
What is your greatest basketball memory?
Dale:
Playing with my club team FBC Blue this past summer. We went 28 – 0 winning all the major
adidas tourneys.
PrepCA:
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
Dale:
Bay League Championships! Make it
to CIF/SS FINALS to compete in the PYRAMID! Retire my high school #3
jersey!
PrepCA:
What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would
you like to keep improving on?
Dale:
I have worked hard to improve my shooting.
I’m always working on my shooting and ball handling.
PrepCA:
Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
Dale:
I would look for Brooke Lyons who is tagged for being a ‘rebounding machine’ and
that is quite an accomplishment given she is 5’10” tall and playing the
post.
PrepCA:
Name one teammate you really respect and why?
Dale:
I can’t name just one player. If I
could say anything, I’d have to say my entire club team at FBC. They are more than teammates, they
are my sisters.
PrepCA:
What are your goals regarding playing college basketball at
Colorado?
Dale:
To make an immediate impact.
PrepCA:
Did you consider staying in state to play in college?
Dale:
Of course, I considered playing in
California
because of my little brother and sister.
I love them…but I know that I will see them a lot because the plane
flight to Colorado
is only two hours and we are a travelin’ sort of family!
PrepCA:
What were your top 5 college choices?
Dale:
Other than the obvious – COLORADO,
Pepperdine, TCU, UNLV, Oregon
State,
University
of New
Mexico.
PrepCA:
What were the top 3 reasons for choosing
Colorado?
Dale:
1.) I chose COLORADO
because of the coaching staff.
Coach Miller is family oriented.
She knows family, devotion and commitment. She was awesome with my siblings on the
visit to our home and that meant the world to me. Coach V. has family here in the
South
Bay
so she knows where I come from and we will make sure to come BACK HOME and play
here…watch out SC! 2.) The second reason for choosing
COLORADO
…it’s the BIG 12! Baby! Look at the
conference. I want to play with the
BIG’s! 3.) Last, I chose
COLORADO
because the coaching staff is YOUNG, energetic and motivating AND because this
is an ‘up and coming program’.
Coach Miller has that ‘winning type’ of attitude to take her program to
the TOP. I want the chance to have
an immediate impact.
COLORADO
is it! …AND did I mention, it is BEAUTIFUL
there!?
PrepCA: Do you know what you will major in at
Colorado? Why?
Dale:
I might double major-COMMUNICATIONS/Broadcasting and Education (obtain a
teaching credential so that I might be able to coach
someday!).
PrepCA:
Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
Dale:
My FBC teammate - Lenita Sanford
because she has arms longer than Shaq!
PrepCA:
Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
Dale:
Rock Solid. A team out of
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. They always made me and my FBC team play
at our best.
PrepCA:
What Club Basketball team do you play for in the Spring and Summer?
Dale:
I played for FBC BLUE.
Undefeated this season, 28-0.
PrepCA:
How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
Dale:
Hard working until the end.
Passionate and enthusiastic about the game of basketball. Energetic and a
leader!
PrepCA:
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
Dale:
My strengths are shooting, basketball IQ, passing and making my teammates
successful. I continue to
work on all aspects of my game to become as well rounded player as I can be.
PrepCA:
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Dale:
Mia Hamm. She inspired me to want
to play sports at the collegiate level.
PrepCA:

Dale:
“If it is to be, it is up to me!”
Coach Steve VanderVeen
