Former Minnesota Vikings kicker and the second
leading scorer in Boston College football history
and current San Diego Shockwave kicker (NIFL) John
Matich, announced today that The Kicking System will
open their 2008 Annual Tour of camps on January 20
at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego. Matich
and his professional staff of football coaches will
host the one-day College Exposure Camp to open their
5th annual tour that will host the top football
kickers in the country.
Matich originally from Southern
Californian, grew up in San Diego. He also was a
former soccer standout that played with the U17 and
U20 youth national soccer teams as part of the La
Jolla Nomads. Matich kicked at Mira Mesa HS and then

Southern California has always
been a hotbed for recruiting kicking talent, but
this year’s list of participating players in San
Diego includes kickers from all across the country.
The 2008 January camp in San Diego
will be headlined by several local standouts that
include: David Seawright (Rancho Bernardo HS)

Coach Matich and The Kicking
System have gained a national reputation from many
top college football programs as arguably the most
elite football kicking development system in the
county. Travis Golia (La Jolla Country Day
School – San Diego) - the top kicking prospect in
the class of 2007 in San Diego- has been working
with coach Matich since he was a sophomore. Matich
visited Stanford with Golia and his family to
personally meet with the football program’s staff,
and helped Travis gain in-depth insight regarding
the recruiting process. “Coach Matich is a
master-mind with kicking and the recruiting
process,” said Golia.
In addition, The Kicking System
also announced a partnership with SPORTSTV Combines
(www.thesportstv.com)
that will allow player video footage to streamed
online, in order to enhance the players’ exposure.
