Drew Mangindin, Guard at Lincoln of Stockton, is all smiles and ready to ball. Why you might ask? Well His team has made the playoffs, they’re undefeated in League play, and he’s ready to bring it on.
The playoff season has begun for men’s high school basketball around the state. In California’s Interscholastic Federations Sac-Joaquin Section the heat is definitely on. Some contenders were guaranteed a playoff spot, while others had to wait, and continued to play hard for power ratings, for that fairy tale ending. The Sac-Joaquin section has 5 Divisions that are based on school enrollment size. Division 1 is for schools having 2,191 students and above. Division 2 is between 1701 and 2190 students. Division 3 is between 1126 and 1700 students. Division 4 is between 301 to 1125 students. Finally Division 5 is 300 students and below. There are 26 different Leagues in the CIF Sac-Joaquin section and the associated power rating for the Leagues are shown below. The Delta River League, DRL, is the toughest league with an 8.0 rating. The Leagues, High Schools in them, Divisions and how they fared this season are as follows: (The first W-L-T is the overall season (all games) and the second set is games in league play only.)
