*San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral defensive end Kevin Greene had a huge
night, recording seven sacks to help Irish down St. Francis of Mountain View in
their WCAL opener. Irish running back Dasarte Yarnway had 165 yards and
two touchdowns on 25 carries in the 24-3 win.
*On the same day he committed to Oregon, Walnut Creek Las Lomas receiver
Diante Jackson caught eight passes for 153 yards and a touchdown to beat
Oakmont-Roseville, 21-0.
*Danville San Ramon Valley quarterback Joe Southwick had a nice EBAL opener,
going 16-for-19 for 330 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 39 yards and a
touchdown in SRV's 50-22 win over Livermore.
*Initially thought to be out with an illness, San Jose Bellarmine Prep
all-everything back Usua Amanam showed no signs of being slowed, rushing for 235
yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries to lead the Bells to a 50-14 win over
San Francisco St. Ignatius
*De La Salle bounced back from their first loss in two years to rush for 493
yards on 38 carries in a 56-10 EBAL win over Livermore Granada. Three
Spartans went over the 100-yard mark, led by Kylan Butler's 135-yards and two
touchdowns.
*Tehachapi running back Josh Strauss set a school record by rushing for 304
yards in a 34-8 rout of Rosamond.
*Josh Harper did his damage on defense this week after doing it on offense a
week ago. Harper had two picks, one to clinch the game as time expired to
help the Rams' of Stockton St. Mary's to a 28-22 win over Stockton Lincoln.
*Corcoran got a pair of 100-yard runners, 131 and three touchdowns from Brant Botill and 122 and two touchdowns on his only two carries from Austin Fugate and
the Panthers routed Wasco, 47-0. Richard Sahagun had three interceptions
for the panthers, including a 45-yarder for a score.

Cameron Loeffler had another big night, rushing for 193 yards and four
touchdowns to lead the Monarchs to a 29-7 win over Dinuba.
*El Diamante of Visalia's running back Stefphon Jefferson has been racking up
yards at a high rate all year, and Friday was no different, thanks to a 304-yard
night, 296 in the first half and 152 in the first quarter, with three touchdowns
in a 54-13 win over Mt. Whitney.
*Soquel running back Tyler Evey went for 221 yards and reached the end zone
four times to lead the Knights to a 41-22 win over Harbor.
*Sherman Oaks Notre Dame quarterback Ryan Kasdorf did it all for the Knights
in their FSN Prime Ticket win over Saugus. Kasdorf threw for 371 yards and
four touchdowns and ran for 148 yards and a touchdown in a 52-28 win over
Saugus. Chris McNeil caught two of the touchdowns, for 68 and
78 yards and James Flynn caught the other two, for 67 and 83 yards. For
Saugus, Desi Rodriguez ws 15-for-26 for 149 yards and a touchdown and rushed for
151 yards on 27 carries and two scores. Saugus running back Ryan Zirbel
ran for 218 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.
*Bellflower St. John Bosco quarterback Keith Price was 12-of-15 for 201 yards
and three touchdowns and ran for a pair to lead the Braves' to a 37-10 win over
defending CIF champion Santa Fe Springs St. Paul.
*Daniel Jenkins rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and had three
negated by penalty, and RV ran to a 31-14 win over Riverside Arlington.
*It was the Jordan Adamczyk-Chris Rivas show for Canyon, when both players
set school records. Adamczyk passed for a school-record 402 yards on
18-of-27 passing and threw for five touchdowns. Rivas was on the receiving
end of four of those, and he finished with a school record 301-yards on his 13
receptions, which tied a school record for completions, as did his four
touchdown receptions. Canyon rolled to a 35-21 win over West Hills
Chaminade.
*Perris Citrus Hill cruised to a 55-26 win over Banning, thanks to 300-yards+
passing from quarterback Caleb Herring and running back Deontae Cooper ran for
125 yards and scored four touchdowns.
*Valencia running back Isaac Dominguez had 122 yards rushing and 101 yards
receiving in a 28-17 win over Capistrano Valley.
*Monrovia running back Marquise Williams rushed for 196 yards and three
touchdowns in a 52-7 win over La Salle.
*Rosemead running back Tra Sumler was just as productive, running for 221
yards on 28 carries and scoring three touchdowns in a 45-14 win over Temple
City.
*Maranatha quarterback Matthew Schilz threw four touchdown passes and ran for
two more in a 62-20 win over Mojave.
*Jon Lister ran for 199 yards on 10 carries and reached the end zone three
times to lead Thousand Oaks to a 35-7 win over Simi Valley.
*Sam McCowan carried the ball 15 times for 227 yards and scored on three of
those carries, all in the second quarter, as Oxnard rolled to an easy 47-7 win
over San Marcos.
