Downey, Calif. - Fighting his way back from a brutal leg break as a freshman, Santa Fe's Andrew Jackson finally got his chance to line up at wide receiver for the Chiefs. With a two touchdown performance, to say his return was successful would be an understatement.

Andrew Jackson has faced more obstacles playing his favorite position than any teenager should have to face (A Long Road Back). After breaking both bones in his lower leg as a freshman, Jackson worked his way back on the field as a sophomore and played defensive end as a junior.

His dream position has always been wide receiver though, and after another summer of rehabilitation, Jackson lined up at receiver for Santa Fe on Friday night against Warren.

At 6-3 and 210 pounds, Jackson is a physically imposing player, and his talent wasn't just used at receiver as he also lined up full time at outside linebacker. It was at this position that Jackson was making an impact on the game in the first half.

He didn't have a ball thrown his way in until the third quarter, but after a slow start, Jackson heated up quickly and finished the game unofficially with six catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns, all coming in the second half.

Jackson's size, strength and straight line speed make him an intriguing wide receiver prospect on the college level. Being inexperienced at the position, for obvious reasons, has limited his precision in route running and the finer points of the position. But he has size, strength, and speed that are natural gifts.

Friday night was a long time coming for Jackson, and while Santa Fe fell to Warren behind a marvelous performance by do-it-all athlete Jesse Callier, Jackson showed the athleticism and playmaking ability that should get the attention of colleges around the country that have been waiting to see him in action as a senior.

You can see him in action from Friday night now in this presentation by ScoutTV*
