Brandon Huffman - GoldenStatePreps.com - Publisher

Brandon Huffman has been the publisher of GoldenStatePreps.com since 2007.  He covers high school sports throughout the state of California, primarily football and basketball.

Huffman is also currently the West Regional Recruiting Manager, and prior to that, the California/Nevada recruiting analyst. 

Before joining the Scout.com recruiting team in 2005, he was the football recruiting writer for BruinReportOnline.com and still covers the football program for BRO. 

Previously, he served as the managing editor for college and prep sports for FanStop.com, overseeing prep football, recruiting and the national college football beat and was the Pac-10 beat writer for football for College Football Digest. 

He was the assistant sports information director at Azusa Pacific University and was an arbitration analyst for the Scott Boras Corporation for a year.  Huffman also covered various high school sporting events as a stringer for several Southland local newspapers.

A Southern California native, Huffman graduated from Ventura HS in 1994, where he played football and volleyball for the Cougars. He has a bachelor's degree in communication.

Herb is an avid Sports Photojournalist.  He’s been covering high school sporting events for many years. His main focus has been on high school football and basketball in the greater Sacramento area. He’s helped promote high school and college athletes through MySportsCred.com. Herb was the photographer for the 2006 South Lake Tahoe Triathlon.

A native New Yorker, Lissade was on the track team at Brooklyn Technical High School. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in California. He currently practices Civil Engineering throughout the state of California.

Hayden joined the staff of GoldenStatePreps.com in the fall of 2007, and is the primary football writer. 

McElroy compiles our weekly rankings for Southern California and Northern California and spearheads the all-state football team compilations.

Previously, he wrote for HS Football Online and College Football Digest.  He sees, on average 3-4 HS football games a weekend and another 2-3 basketball games in the prep ranks.  Currently, he works as a youth counselor in Southern California.

A native of Whittier, McElroy played four years of football and baseball and wrestled in high school.  He has a bachelor's degree in marketing.

 

Scottie Lewis - GoldenStatePreps.com - Football Scout

Scottie Lewis, a former college defensive back, is the primary football scout for GoldenStatePreps.com, covering summer passing league and fall football games, as well as numerous spring combines and camps.

 

Lewis played football collegiately at Azusa Pacific University, starting out as a wide receiver and converting to strong safety his final two seasons for the Cougars.

 

After working for the Los Angeles Dodgers for two years, Lewis is now a financial planner in Southern California.

He graduated from Bonita HS in La Verne, Calif., in 1994 and was a four-year football and baseball player for the Bearcats.  He has a bachelor's degree in business.
