career with over 2,000 points.
PrepCA:
What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would
you like to keep improving on?
Collishaw:
Ball handling and moving without the ball. I’d like to continue to get stronger
physically and improve my explosiveness.
PrepCA:
Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out
for?
Collishaw:
On my high school team, we have some younger players that could become special.
They include Rebecca Thomas (sophomore) and Erica Washington (freshman).
PrepCA:
Name one teammate you really respect and why?
Collishaw:
On my club team, it would be Hannah Donaghe (Stanford commit). She has great
hops and also helped my game by practicing against her all last
summer.
PrepCA:
What are your goals regarding playing college basketball at
Santa
Barbara?
Collishaw:
To contribute to team success and improve as a player.
PrepCA:
Did you consider leaving the state to play in
college?
Collishaw:
In the early stages of recruitment I did, but as it got closer to decision time,
I became more and more interested in staying in
California.
Luckily I had great offers in
California.
PrepCA:
What were your top 5 college choices?
Collishaw:
UCSB (obviously!), Washington,
Fresno
State,
Oregon
State, Cal Poly
PrepCA:
What were the top 3 reasons for choosing
Santa
Barbara?
Collishaw:
1. Coaches 2. location and
tradition 3. UC academic standards
PrepCA: Do you know what you will major in at
UCSB?
Why?
Collishaw:
I’m currently undecided, but I have an interest in communications.
PrepCA:
Who is the best player you ever played against?
Why?
Collishaw:
There are so many, but I am amazed by Italee Lucas…her speed and ability to
handle the ball.
PrepCA:
Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
Collishaw:
In high school I’d have to say Alyssa Morris of
Edison
– she always brings it at game time.
PrepCA:
What Club Basketball team do you player for in the Spring and
Summer?
Collishaw:
Cen Cal Elite (part of the West Coast Elite family).
PrepCA:
How do you think your coach would describe you as a
player?
Collishaw:
A hard worker and a perfectionist.
PrepCA:
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a
player?
Collishaw:
My greatest strength is probably my versatility: the ability to score from the perimeter,
off the dribble, and post up if I have a mismatch. My weakness is that I don’t always move
without the ball, and at times I lose my aggressiveness on
offense.
PrepCA:
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Collishaw:
Lisa Willis of UCLA and now the LA Sparks:
I love her step-back jumper and lockdown defense.
PrepCA:
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Collishaw:
Always play hard because you never know who might be
watching.
PrepCA:
Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
Collishaw:
As a young
team, we’ll probably struggle early, like we did last year…especially because we
have a tough early season schedule. But by the time playoffs roll around, watch
out!
PrepCA:
What position do you think you will play at UCSB?
Collishaw:
Shooting guard (2 or 3 in their offense).
PrepCA:
What can the Santa Barbara Basketball program expect from you as a
player?
Collishaw:
A hard worker and a good teammate.
PrepCA: What was the last book you read?
Collishaw:
Dante’s Inferno (for school).
PrepCA: What was the latest movie you
saw?
Collishaw:
Jackass II (my friends wanted to go!)
PrepCA:
What is your all time favorite movie?
Collishaw:
Hoosiers (I guess I’m old school).
