When Mission Viejo traveled to Tesoro earlier this season, the game featured three players that had already made a college decision. See Allan Bridgford (Cal), John Michael Davis (Boise State), and Alex Mascarenas (UCLA) in action.
Quarterback Allan Bridgford and athlete Alex Mascarenas led their Mission Viejo team to Tesoro for a showdown earlier
this season. Linebacker John Michael Davis helped stifle Bridgford and the
Mission Viejo attack with constant pressure.
Bridgford struggled to stay upright during most of the game as Tesoro lived in
the offensive backfield, but he still managed to make several big plays
including a nice catch and run to Mascarenas. He showed a lot of toughness in
the pocket considering the beating he took through the night and a nice touch on
the deep ball.

Mascarenas had a very good game for Mission Viejo including the touchdown catch
referenced earlier, and he was also a standout on special teams and defense.
Mascarenas shows a nice change of direction whether he is in coverage or has the
ball in his hands. He has good instincts and a nose for the ball.

It was John Michael Davis' Tesoro team that came out on top in the showdown, in
no small part to the linebacker's efforts. Davis played the game with a heavy
brace on his arm and in obvious pain, but he still made his presence felt with
several big plays and keeping Bridgford uncomfortable in the pocket all night.
Labeled a "combine" guy by some in the area, Davis showed he's pure
football player in addition to having terrific physical attributes.

Davis was not alone in his efforts in shutting down Mission Viejo, he teams with
Scott Graves to form one of the top linebacking duos in the state.
